Saturday saw me venture into the wilds of North Devon to play with the really big 28mm stuff of David Gale. I stayed away from the realy realy really big 54mm stuff, though I was assured it was entertaining for hooking the youngsters.
As previous games needed a couple of more turns to complete, we decided to try a game with no Cavalry. David has a Grand Redoubt, so I suggested we refight part of Borodino (as per the WHC) and set about having Davout attack a small Russian Force, defending the major earthwork.
The Army list we eventually laid our hands on had 17 battalions under Davouts command. Eventually, with a few British and Prussian reinforcements, David could deploy a large number of his collection.
Eventually the hoardes of French got close enough, with enough troops to take the battery.
A fun day
